History
of monipol - Contract
Research and Medical Consultants
monipol is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) and was founded
in 1995. Its main capital is its
experience, readiness to change and flexibility. Its founders
and managing directors are Jaroslaw
Stępień, MD, and Raphael Teichmann, PhD.
Dr Stępień was
born in Poland in 1956,
grew up in that country, and studied medicine in Cracow.
Dr
Teichmann, who was also born in Poland in 1959, grew up in Germany and
studied biology in Cologne
and Düsseldorf.
Both worked for several years in clinical research
for an international pharmaceutical company and
conducted several clinical trials in Poland for the same company. Their outstanding
experience with
Polish investigators and their patients led them to establish a Contract
Research Institute to conduct
clinical trials in Poland.
monipol owns offices in Bonn (Germany) and in Cracow (Poland). In 2002 a new and modern 24-bed Phase I Unit in Cracow - Nowa Huta was build, which is located in direct neighbourhood to the Medical Centre. In January 2006 monipol and the Baltic CRO 'Dokumeds' founded the joint venture CRO 'MONI-DOK' operating from Kiev and serving as basis for the organization and monitoring of clinical studies in Ukraine.
In 2005 monipol actively set-up the 'AcrossAlliance' which enables CROs from a variety of European countries working together in international clinical studies
